Here’s what we’re reading this Fall at ElderPride!

At ElderPride, our intention is to provide you with wisdom, inspiration, and community connections so that together we can age forward with grace and ease. This Fall, we’ve selected three powerful books to support that journey.

Our first selection is From the Inside Out by Rev. Dr. Andriette Earl.
This book is a collection of Rev. Dr. Andriette’s monthly essays originally published in Science of Mind magazine. It’s one of those books you can open to any page and find inspiration to live more authentically. Rev. Dr. Andriette is known as an “Edu-tainer”—a gifted storyteller who also does her research and “brings the receipts.” Over the next several weeks, ElderPride will share a daily motivational quote from this book across all of our social media platforms.

Our second selection is The Pivot Year by Brianna Wiest.
If you’re looking for daily inspiration, this is the book for you! Through 365 short meditations, The Pivot Year helps readers embrace change, deepen self-awareness, and shift their mindset one intentional moment at a time. It’s heartfelt, reflective, and grounded—perfect for morning mindfulness or as a thoughtful gift to yourself or someone else. Our third selection is Because the Bible Says So by Dr. Dan McClellan.
This book offers an approachable yet scholarly look at the Bible’s most controversial topics, cutting through assumptions and dogma with evidence-based interpretation. It’s especially relevant if you’re seeking clarity on biblical passages often used in today’s social and ethical debates.

We’re particularly excited to offer Dr. McClellan’s book because it equips those of us in the LGBTQIA+ community with research and references to push back against much of the harmful rhetoric we hear from the religious right.
